Step-by-step guide to bathing your baby
Taking your baby out of the bath
Support your baby with one hand under their back and one under their bottom. Gently lift them out and wrap them in a warm, soft towel.
Drying off and additional care
Be gentle by softly dabbing their skin with the towel and make sure to dry between their skin folds too. This is the best time to moisturise, as your baby’s skin is still wet so why not try treating their skin to some NIVEA Baby Soft Cream.
Finishing off with a gentle baby massage
A little parent-child massage is the perfect way to wind down after bath time and further bond with your baby. Not only that, but it also stimulates digestion, blood circulation and their immune system.
The wonderful thing for babies about being surrounded by warm water is that it reminds them of being in their mother’s womb. Give your baby the time to enjoy the sensation of splashing around.
Placing your baby in the bath
Gradually slip your baby into the water, using one hand to support their head and neck. Allow them to settle in and keep their shoulders covered so they don’t get cold.
Washing your baby
Gently cleanse your baby’s delicate areas like eyes and mouth using a flannel and then wash their body using a mild baby cleanser like NIVEA Baby Soft Shampoo & Bath. Avoid scrubbing too hard on the delicate skin.
